Italy Band Trip 2016

The Germantown High School Bands have been invited to participate in the New Year's festivities in Rome and Frascati, Italy. The tour would leave in 2016 and return in 2017. Both events are by invitation only and very small number of American bands receive the invitation.

Youth music of The World collaborates with the City of Rome and the Town of Frascati to create this once in a lifetime music event. The invitations come from the Director of Cultural Events in Rome and the office of the Mayor of Frascati.

The performance in Rome will take place at one of the many landmarks the city has to offer. Past venues include the Piazza del Colosseo, Piazza San Ignazio, and the Piazza del Popolo. The Frascati event is named "The Frascati Streetshow." The performing groups slowly meander through the city, playing and entertaining as they go. The groups stop at designated points to give longer performances. Both performances will allow the bands to experience the appreciative audiences of Italy.

During the tour, the students will have the opportunity to see many of the historical sights of Italy, including the following options. Most are half day tours and are all options for the trip. Time constraints will limit our choices.
